Happy Halloween! Tips for a happy, festive, and healthy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!

Halloween has been my favourite holiday since I was little, maybe because it was so close to my birthday or maybe it was because I got to dress up. Although time has passed and trick or treating is not exactly age appropriate at 28, here are some ideas to enjoy this spooky season.

As the introvert that I am, my big plans for tonight involves putting on some of my favourite spooky music while I work around the house and ending the day with a festive movie (Hocus Pocus is high on the list this year as I haven’t seen the original) with some snacks and my cat, in my Halloween onesie. 🎃

If you’re looking for more social activities, here are a few examples. Spending time with family or friends while going through a corn maze, carving pumpkins, or haunted houses if that’s your thing.

Enjoy yourself and find a way to enjoy this holiday in a frightfully fulfilling way.

Need some help getting into the mood? Here are a few of my favourites that get me in the Halloween spirit:

 Movies :

  • Nightmare Before Christmas
  • Van Helsing (2004)
  • Young Frankenstein
  • Corpse Bride
  • Sleepy Hollow(1999)
  • Sweeney Todd (for those musical lovers)
  • Scooby Doo (cartoon or live-action)
  • Adams Family

  • Pumpkin carving
  • Corn Maze
  • Baking (fall year round but making ghost, monsters, and jack-o-lanterns are extra festive)
  • Trick or treating with family
  • Movie night
  • Haunted houses
  • Dress up even if you’re not going out
