Get Adventurous: How trying something new can get you out of a rut?

How has your health journey been going? If you have been doing it for a while or if you are just trying to get started we all feel stuck at times and there is one thing that would help you get out of this rut you’ve been stuck in. That thing is… trying something new.

It may seem like a reasonably simple method to get unstuck but it can be the hardest thing to do. Trying something new works because it is challenging. It requires you to try something that you haven’t done before, meaning that there are new skills and techniques that you need to learn. If you are trying to learn a new recipe, maybe there are ingredients and utensils that you are unfamiliar with that you have to learn how to use. If it’s a new activity the coordination and skills may be novel and strange.

Hopefully, that hasn’t scared you away from trying something new, because this learning curve is so powerful in getting out of the rut you’re stuck in. If you can get yourself through the growing pains of learning you will have a greater understanding of your abilities and new skills to include in your life. You will be in a new place with more knowledge and skills. This accumulation of knowledge and skills is what really gets you out of the rut.
